Introduction
"In the February Greywell Gazette, Paul Brennan-Benson described some of the events being planned over the Platinum Jubilee Holiday Weekend. Paul has asked me to co-ordinate the events so you can expect to hear more from me over the next few weeks." - Richard Cole.
The most important news is that Hart DC have approved the road closure from 10.00am to 18.00pm on Sunday which will enable us to have a Village Street party.
We are now in a position to explain in a bit more detail what is being planned for the village and we would encourage as much participation as possible to create a wonderful celebration.
One thing we would like is to see the Village decorated as much as possible – so get the bunting made or purchased and get decorating

Flower Festival - St Mary’s Church - Thursday 2nd – Saturday 4th June
Tennis Tournament - Saturday afternoon
BBQ - Fox & Goose - Saturday afternoon – evening
The Queen’s Ball - Village Hall - Saturday 8.00pm - including a Jubilee Cocktail and Dancing with Themed Dress
Pet Show - tbc - Sunday morning
Street Party - The Street - Sunday lunchtime - this will take the form of a bring your own picnic
Bake-off Competition - Village Hall - Sunday afternoon
Afternoon Tea with cake - Village Hall & Street - Sunday afternoon
Tree Planting - Church meadow - October (but with the site marked over the weekend)
There are other items for potential inclusion which will be announced once confirmed.
