The Village Hall
The Village Hall was built over a hundred years ago and is one of the most important village amenities, along with the church and the pub. It is run by a management committee who are the Trustees of the hall. Over the years, the hall has been extended and modernised and it now offers an excellent venue for village events and activities.
There are current plans to upgrade the hall’s kitchen with state-of-the-art cooking facilities and a dishwasher, and improve acoustics.
The hall hosts a number of clubs and societies including Whitewater Movies, which puts on film and supper nights during the year (for more info on films click on the "Whitewater Movies" button) and the Wine Club which holds regular tastings and organises lectures on all matters to do with wine. The hall committee organises a number of events during the year including a Quiz Night, a Christmas Party for children and Carol Concert, a Karaoke Evening, Plant and Produce Sales, a Bonfire Party and regular Coffee Mornings. All these events raise money for the hall and village projects.
The hall can be hired for private functions and activities. Two examples of the latter are the Pilates class and children’s dance class which are both held weekly. You can find a list of up-coming events held at the hall in The Villager, the website or check the notice board outside the hall.
To hire the village hall a hiring agreement form needs to be completed. If you wish to hire the hall you can download a copy of the document using the link on this page. The hiring form, or questions about hiring the hall, should be directed to Isabel Pound, Lettings Officer, at email@example.com or telephone 01256 702684.
The hall committee also hires out a marquee, tables, glasses and a spit roast for villagers’ use.
